So, Google has decided to create a wave of disruption in the smartphone market and compete with the iPhone series with its brand-new Android phones – Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL. With the amazing camera, very new Google Assistant and pure take on Android; Google phone is claimed to have a top position in the smartphone pile. Well, Pixel 2 is the second smartphone released with the label of Google after the quite successful launch of Pixel & Pixel XL.
With a 5-inch screen, Pixel 2 is a smaller version of Pixel 2 XL, having far-reaching search and Assistant capabilities. Pixel is an inch larger than Pixel 2 otherwise both phones match in practically every way. They are an advanced, refined and improved version of the models launched by Google in 2016. Speaking of price, the Pixel 2 starts at $650 while the Pixel 2 XL starts at $850.
Google has said Goodbye to the headphone jack with these two models. But, it introduced Pixel Buds which is a set of wireless (Bluetooth) earbuds works well with any phone. With touch and voice controls, this device is available at $160. Google is claimed to provide better Assistant and the best phone camera which are enough to compete with the best of 2017’s smartphone pile.
Brand new Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 2 both run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processors. Both smartphones have 4 GB RAM and either 64 or 128 GB internal storage. Pixel 2’s screen measures 1920×1080 pixels while the XL can measure 2880×1440 (4K). Both have OLED screens which provide deeper blacks and more dynamic images. Besides, you can charge both of these phones via USB-C but they lack wireless charging (Google felt this technology doesn’t charge the phones fast enough).
Conclusion
Both of these new smartphones are high-end, top-notch, exciting and bleeding-edge and are way cheaper than Apple’s new models – iPhone X. However, the specs do not tell the whole story, but here we are providing the complete specifications of some of the best smartphones that may dominate 2017 and 2018 as well.
