Joomla is one of the best open source Content Management System platforms, so most of the business owners use this CMS to manage and launch their websites. No doubt, Joomla is an amazing platform but maybe you are among those business persons who have decided to switch your business website from Joomla to WordPress.

You may have heard a lot of people talking about the power of WordPress plugins and themes. Well if you want to migrate your Joomla site to WordPress, then you are in the right place.

In this article, the expert WordPress developers of Baymediasoft shared the secret of how to move your site from Joomla to WordPress.

Here are significant steps to move your site from Joomla to WordPress
1. To switch your site from Joomla to WordPress, the first step you need to take is choose a web host and install WordPress. Once you have WordPress installed on your PC, it’s time to go to the admin area of WordPress in order to install and activate “FG Joomla to WordPress” plugin.

2.When you have activated the plugin, go to Tools then Import. You will see a list of import tools available for WordPress installation. Now, click on Joomla from the list of all available tools.

3. You can take the database settings from your Joomla website’s admin area. To get the database setting, go to under Global Configuration » Server tab. You can also get this information from “configuration.php” file that is stored in your Joomla website’s root folder. To access this file, open “configuration.php” in a notepad.

4.Don’t forget to check Force media import option before importing media files from Joomla to WordPress. Finally, click on “Import content from Joomla to WordPress”. Once the process is completed, you will see a notification like this:

5.Once you have imported all your content, it’s time to fix all internal links. You will find “modify internal links” button at the bottom of the Joomla (FG) importer page; click on this button to fix all internal links.

We hope that the above-mentioned steps helped you migrate your site from Joomla to WordPress.
